September 2013

Tetra Tech CSO has been awarded a project for the City of Thetford Mines.

A previous study performed by Tetra Tech CSO responded to the City’s urgent need to demonstrate to the “Ministère du développement durable, de l’Environnement, de la Faune et des Parcs” or MDDEFP (the province of Quebec’s environment authority) their desire and interest in controlling sewer overflows at their 30-plus overflow points. The study, delivered in 2011, identified solutions that would allow the City to reduce the number of sewer overflows to 7 between May and December, while respecting the limited capacities of the interceptors already in place. For this new project, the City has asked Tetra Tech CSO to analyse in greater detail the solutions proposed in the 2011 study for four retention sites, addressing eight overflow structures.
